What is Raku?
Raku is a pottery technique in which pots are fired at a low temperature then taken red-hot from the kiln and plunged into combustibles for reduction or carbonizing. The PPT below is shown in class as well.
When are the firings and who gets to do it?
Raku firings are held once each semester (usually October and May) and the advanced classes get to participate. That would include Ceramics 2, Ceramics 3, and AP.
